This is a character lineup for a new project that I'm starting. Over the next couple of weeks I'm going to be making a mock TV show for school. I've got to create characters, model sheets,, layouts, backgrounds, and storyboards for this one.
The first part I've done is create a character lineup in which I pick a time period as a theme (I have Ancient Greece), and then come up with four characters based on assigned character types (a hero, a love interest, a villain, and a comic relief).
Interesting characters and very different from what we have seen on TV or films. I like the way you represented the hero, He is not strong in extreme but not a wimp. This Medusa is totally the contrary to the character evil and perverse that someone can imagine when think about her and it shows your originality. My favorite is Polyphemus, a cute monster and funny. My only one observation is, some cartoons looks like they have arms and the legs on the same plane. The feet of Medusa are a little weird to me, I know 3/4 view in animation is one of the more difficult things but the practice make the master. Keep on ahead you have a nice style!
You've got some strong character designs here! I could definitely see them interacting in an animated environment. I also really like the way you broke convention by making Medusa a love interest when she's normally a baddie; that's an innovation I would definitely like to see more of in animation today...it would be interesting to see what other role reversals people could come up with!
I like Polyphemus the best, I think it's those bendy limbs of his
Thanks, I've already painted a few of them. It's hard to tell what I think I'll enjoy the most. It'll probably be painting the layouts, which is something I usually enjoy doing. But I'm sure I'll enjoy the model sheets just as much, which is what I'm working on now.
